Who I am
Beauty enthusiast. Curly hair evangelist. Professional problem solver.
Some of my earliest memories are teaching myself how to braid on my Barbies’ hair and crying after leaving various hair salons with disastrous haircuts. In the decades since, I have been on a quest for the best products and styles for my curly hair. During that journey, I gained confidence from finally learning how to do my own hair, and that has been the foundation for my passion for the beauty industry.
I have been a hair model for several salon brands’ education events, written academic papers on the industry, and worked with DevaCurl’s leadership team on business development and special projects. I have six years of consulting experience at McKinsey and Deloitte where I have helped businesses solve their toughest problems.
I am originally from the Hudson Valley in New York and I have a mechanical engineering degree and MBA from Harvard. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my partner, Dion, traveling to see friends and family, mentoring, and talking about hair to anyone who will listen.
My mission in life is to ensure that the people whose lives I touch succeed.
I learned goal setting at a young age as a competitive gymnast and I bring the attitude that I will “figure it out” and “get it done” to everything I do. I continuously strive to achieve the goals I set for myself and bring along the people and companies I work with to help them meet their own goals and definitions of success.
WHAT I’M GOOD AT
I have experience working with almost every corporate function. I have particularly enjoyed sales and channel strategy including go-to-market strategy, corporate strategy, M&A, service operations including customer experience and frontline transformation, and executing strategies. I love building relationships relationships at all levels- I am comfortable in the C-Suite and on the frontline. I bring a positive attitude to every thing I do and enjoy leading and being a part of performing teams. I have recruited and mentored talent at the organizations I have been proud to be a part of.
